Question for the group...
I'd like to participate in this group; I've been lurking for a while.
But I don't have a BB; I have a Newell. There is a Newell forum, but
it seems to be all but dead. I suspect that's more because of the
format than anything else; posting, replying, etc, are very clumsy
and don't lend themselves to carrying on a "conversation" so it just
never happens. This email reflector format is much more like what we
humans think of as carrying on a real-time conversation, and so it
stays very lively.

In any event, my question is: keeping in mind that my Newell and a PT
are quite similar, and, more importantly, share almost all the same
systems (DD V92, Allison, wheels, refrig, a/c, plumbing, etc etc)
that generate about 97% of the questions and answers here, I'd think
that my questions when I have them would be relevant to the group and
I can occasionally contribute suggestions that will also be relevant
almost all the time. (I have better sense than to volunteer anything
on the BBQ thread...you don't want to try my cooking...)

But I also don't want to feel like an "outsider" being tolerated out
of politeness. So my question is, how would you guys feel about
admitting a foriegner?

Question for the group...
Travis,

"Foreigners" or "SOB"s as we call them (no, no, it stands for "Some
Other Brand" around here - LOL!) are always welcome to contribute to
the conversations. Actually, we already have Newell owners on the
forum ahead of you, so welcome aboard. I think there may be a Prevost
or two also, but they may not want to admit it..... We have many
other brand owners also looking to learn or upgrade.

You are correct. From an equipment basis they have many similarities,
so if you can help us or we can help you, post away!

Oh, come on... I'll bet you have a dish that's at least as tasty as my
Eggo recipe. ;-)

Jim, even though you have moved onto another coach, your knowledge of
Bluebirds is well known. Please continue to avail us of it.

PS: I have always thought the bird forums were heads and shoulders
above the other forums. for info we have at least one Newell(if not
more hanging out on the POG forum.

Does your Newell have the direct drive lock rear end? Saw one used to
good benefit at the FMCA ralley a few years back.

Question for the group...
hi travis,

i have a 38' 1990 newell i just got in june. i post on the newell
site as encantotom and agree with you there is not much action
there, but i have gotten answers to virtually all my questions when
i post there and i have asked alot of questions.

please feel free to contact me directly if you want and there are a
few people that we share info between that have helped me alot.

i looked for 4-5 months for a bluebird and almost several different
ones, but they ended up not happening. then i
found this newell in new mexico and i love it. not as many gadgets
as a bb, but i have taken it on one 4k mile trip and it was
fantastic. i am doing a bunch of updating and routine maintainence
on it in preparation to taking a 6 week long trip next summer. i am
a real do it your selfer so try to do most things myself except
those things that are worth it to pay someone to do....

love to hear from ya if ya want.
