My switches are actually on the dash' not on the wall. My XV had the switches on the wall by my arm and as you described I would knock them off. I bought drawer handles wide enough to reach over the switches(top to bottom). Mounted them on the switch plate so they covered the switch protecting them from being unintentionally turned off. You can find handles that will match the color of the switch and they look quite well.
