Bill Rowe

Wouldn't you know it, the first time I need the roof air this year,
and it won't come on. I worked OK three weeks ago when I tried it. I
have a 90sp36 with two roof airs. The rear works fine. When I tried
the front air, it will not do anything. I checked the breakers to the
right of the entrance door. Everything was on. I have voltage on both
legs of power. With 20 amps on leg one and none on leg two, with rear
air running. All heat is turned off and switches are in summer. Any
idea if there is another breaker somewhere? It is a penguin unit.
The rear works enough to cool the coach down for us to sleep tonight.
We have 14 college kids staying in the house tonight, so the wife,
dogs and I are moving out.

The next thing I'd check is to drop the inside shroud and check
voltage at the A/C control box.

don't want to insult anyone but as you well know sometimes in these
coaches "switches is bitches". I have screwed it up more than i care
to admit. Go back and double check the easy basic stuff.

In my 86 there were the three switches on the overhead that had to be on:
front middle and rear
I think the heat had to be off.
the ac itself had to be on.

I suppose the switch above the driver could have gone bad.. could this cause it?

Jeff & All, I dropped the cover, no power, checked behind the braker good
power, found box where two hots and commons connect and go out as one each +
ground to unit on roof, no power coming in. must be another breaker somewhere.
between main braker box and junction box. I don't think the wall thermostat is
in the involved with air conditioning.

As mentioned, you do have the two switches on above the driver's head
(front and rear A/C)?

These switches control two relays in a metal enclosure, with the rig
quiet you should be able to have someone switch them on/off and find
the relays, usually near the breaker panel but not sure in the SP.

If you have a central control thermostat each zone has to be in the cool
mode.

On my 90 SP the "2 switches above the driver" Jeff refers to are actually on
the top left of the lower dash. The top switch operates the front AC while
the one under it operates the rear one. They also operate the electric heat
front and rear

could do it but probably not like this is the problem.

turn the switches on and check for 120volts at the airconditioner

Thanks Lawrence & all that responded,
I had come to the conclution that my caoch was differnent from all
the rest. The switches everyone was talking about were just not there.
Well, this morning I sat back down in the seat and relaxed and just
let my eyes roam over the dash. I noticed that the drapes, which I
keep closed when not in use, touched the the very top of the lower
left (on the wall beside the driver) panel of switches. I reached over
and moved the drape and guess what I found. Boy do I feel dumb.
Problem solved, that is after I put the coach back together.
You guys don't know how much I appreciate this group. Thanks Ernie.
