Fuel Pump
Steve: When you have time, I would like to know a little more about the problem
you had. Is that key one of those half-moon keys?(cannot remember their tech
name.) How does it run at all without the key. I want to have a look at mine.
Thanks.

FYI.... for all Birds with a 6V or 8V DD engine.
There is a mechanical fuel pump on these engines and the key that
joins them to the engine sometimes fails. When this happens, the
engine will not rise above 12,1300 RPM's. All right if on flat land
but in the mountains...... Just got my Tshirt and a lighter wallet.
The new part is twice as thick as old(must be a common problem).
Replaced fuel pump as well(only $88), but the dianogis and labor!!
Interstate Power Systems in Billings, Mont. got us in real quick.
Good people with experienced techs.
