Is there anyway you can keep your fuel injector pump in tip top
condition? Besides the hoses,belts and other mis.gear this is the one
area that I might be a little concerned with. Jon

with cat diesel.thanks in advance.

Don't think there is one as produced. The normal place to mount a pusher pump
is on the innner frame rail behind the rear axle. Make sure you access the
supply line, not the return. When dealing with fuel supply problems it helps to
have a sight tube on the return line at the pump to check for air bubbles in the
flow. Shouldn't have any.

the sight tube is the first thing a good diesel tech will add when trouble
shooting a fuel problem.remember the key words.....good diesel tech randy

As Mike H said, no electric fuel pump. The factory started equipping
them in '83 I believe.

Very good and thanks for the info,the gauge is a factory gauge ,so i
will crawl around some more back there and see if i can find one.that
would be the only reason for having a guage installed at that
location,and allthough it starts and runs fine i know that on my 6.5
deisel it has one and it does affect the starting and the performace a
bit when it goes bad.I was mainly concerned that it was in the
tank,thats the last thing i want to do is drop that!although bolth my
gas guages are stuck on full im sure from sitting so eventually i'll
probably figure that to be in the tank problem anyway. thanks again for
the info ,ken

Jack Jones here, I need to know is there a fuel supply pump on my 87
8v92 and if so where is it at, if it is electric where is the relay or
fuse.Thanks

FYI.... for all Birds with a 6V or 8V DD engine.
There is a mechanical fuel pump on these engines and the key that
joins them to the engine sometimes fails. When this happens, the
engine will not rise above 12,1300 RPM's. All right if on flat land
but in the mountains...... Just got my Tshirt and a lighter wallet.
The new part is twice as thick as old(must be a common problem).
Replaced fuel pump as well(only $88), but the dianogis and labor!!
Interstate Power Systems in Billings, Mont. got us in real quick.
Good people with experienced techs.
