Blower for Dash AC/Heat/Defrost on 2000 LXI
The thing will blow the Heated/Cooled air wherever it wants, despite the way you
set it. i.e. When set to blow the air directly at you, it will go to the
windshield instead, or vice versa. We're at Motorhomes of Texas and they can't
figure it out. Anyone?

My 95 BMC-37 was recently in the shop for treatment of dash A/C with
similar(?) issues. In my case, the discharge air got neither hot
nor cold but tepid and just a little cool, but discharged mostly to
the right places. Defrost under the worst of conditions became a
dangerous situation needing a dry rag and a passenger to wipe.

Upon disassembly we found the heat/cool damper operated wrong. I
had one tube that fell off another actuator that bled off the vacuum
pressure so all the dampers did not fully activate. Also the
evaporator coil was full of crud and did not pass much air. There
is no filter for outside air and the inside/outside damper did not
fully close.

There are no known shop manuals for the unit, and the design for the
outside damper may actually have intentionally maintained some
percentage of outside air at all times. I have yet to gain much
experience after repair, but it is improved.

My coach has a venturi vacuum pump to operate the dampers. If I
were to guess at your situation it would be that the pump is not
making enough vacuum for a full damper stroke. I would not expect
the full list of problems we found. The worst-case might be that
the tubes have come off and been re-assembled in the wrong order?
In my case, disassembly was needed. I hope yours is simpler.
