Must Sell - 12.5 KW Perkins / Kohler Generator from 1983.
Fellow Wanderlodgers,

I recently purchased a 8,000 watt Powertech geny that I want to install in my
83' FC-35 shortly. Before doing so, of course, I need to remove and sell the
original 12.5 Perkins/Kohler generator that is in place.

I've looked over the geny with a friend, and found some issues with it. I've
had the coach for 7 years, and have not used the geny very much. I have put
approx 120 hours on it. It now has approx 750 total hours on it.

Here are the issues with the geny that I'm aware of:

* When I took the coach out of hibernation a few days ago, I noted fuel dripping
from the injector pump when the main fuel pump to the 3208 Cat is running. It
does not drip when the generator itself is running.

* When you start and start the geny numerous times, it blows the 15 amp fuse on
the control box. It might need a new starter solenoid I'm told.

* The oil pressure gauge on the coach dash does not work. To measure the
pressure, you might want to bring a gauge with you to test the unit. Also
according to my friend, the high oil pressure shut off switch also does not
work.

* This geny is putting out 160 volts instead of 120. I believe it needs a new
voltage regulator.

On the plus side, however, this generator starts every time. It only has 750
hours on it, and comes complete with everything - all I want to keep are the
battery wires, the fuel lines and the battery itself.

I replaced the fuel pump and starter in 2008. Also added a Donaldson air filter
and new bearing on the fan pulley. The oil and antifreeze were changed last
fall.

Given its issues, I don't know what it is worth. It still has plenty of good
parts a Wanderlodge owner might need. It would make a great spare, or can be
fixed up to give many more years of service.

Come see it and hear it run. I'll help you remove it, though the responsibility
will be yours. Any reasonable offer will be accepted. Must sell!
