Is there anyone on this forum that is familiar with possible condo rentals on the ocean in southern California for Jan & Feb. 12. Would also be interested in hearing about oceanside RV parks in same area. Help much appreciated.

Not on the beach Wallace but dang close - we stayed there a couple of weeks in
July 2010 Bernado Shores, Imperial Beach. Couple of publi beaches on the bay
side and on the ocean with a dog friendly http://www.bernardoshoresrvpark.com/
Very nice park but I don't know what the "snow bird" rates would be. Friendly
people, right down the road from Coronado and across the big bridge from San
Diego. Another nice place is Morro Bay, 200 miles or so south of SF. Quaint
fishing village, beautiful scenery, good food. We were there in August of 2010.
Coldest summer I ever spent. Several nice parks within walking distance of the
beach. Don't know how it would be in winter. We stayed at Morro Dunes
http://www.morrodunes.com/morro_dunes/index.html Right across a one way street
and over the sand dunes before you are in the ocean.

Malibu RV Park in, well, Malibu, is a sweet spot if it is near where you want to be. Right aacross Hwy 1 from the beach, andsitting up high where there is a great view. I've also heard of a nice park in Long Beach.

RV PARKS:

Oceanside, CA: Paradise By the Sea RV Park is nice and a short EASY walk to a small beach. http://paradisebythesearvresort.com/

Oceanside CA: If you are military retired or disabled http://www.militarycampgrounds.us/milcam...tion-beach

Chula Vista in San Diego is great. http://www.chulavistarv.com/Table/Prices/

A couple on the Silver Strand might be good as well.

Look up San Diego RV Parks for more.

I know nothing about Condos.

There is not much difference in weather/temperature between San Diego and Long
Beach, or for that matter LA if you are close to the ocean.

Avg Jan high in San Diego - 66 F
Avg Jan low in San Diego - 50 F

Avg Jan high in Long Beach - 68 F
Avg Jan low in Long Beach - 46 F

I personally prefer Golden Shore RV Park in Long Beach, but I admit I have not
tried any of the parks further south. I drove to San Diego from Long Beach a
couple of times, it's only 1 h 40 min and I never felt the need to take the
whole rig down there. Long Beach is a great location, close to both LA and
Orange County.
