update: no power rear load centers? 82 FC 35 SB
Hi Ralph

Thank you for your reply. I have a simply working test lite...

I cannot find those circuit breakers base of steering column, column is enclosed
in box....my master turn off switch is under the key. do I need to pull front
cover off bus? Or look in top front load center?
Will keep looking....standing on my head..haha

there is power to the load centers...just posted wog...will paste here for your
easy reference...
I think u r onto it.
I'll reread and study your reply, try to find those two circuit breakers....

WOG post:

thought I had some things clarified about power to left load centers, then
something happened that really baffled me...

Using a simple test lite determined there is power to both load centers. At a
strip nearest left side wall...also power to silver relays of solenoids?

further use of test lite on fuses and breakers found nothing the normal way..
clipped to positive side terminal other to ground terminal ..test lite not on..

now clip to positive terminal other scraped against metal....lite on!
now clip to ground terminal then scraped metal...lite on!

now clip positive then neg....no lite?

WTF....my skills are limited but why test lite on when hooked to neg ground bar
and touch metal??

Is there a dead short? another fuse?

Is this normal....???

If I reading your response right, you do have Master power to the load
centers. So looking further for the Master breakers should be a dead issue
there.

Some times, getting a good connection is hard, thus the scraping to get a
clean connection. We need to go with your test light hook up one way only,
the alligator clip goes to ground and the probe is touched to hot or what
should be hot, circuits.

Do you have the manuals in the blue box or where ever they are kept? In one
of the manuals there should be diagrams of each load center. The left rear
load center is where the usual spot is for the fresh water pump voltage
source. Usually it is a green wire and either number 3 or number 9 for the
wire number. We need to find that source. Then double check the in coming
master power to that load center and I think it should be hot, after
reading previous posts. Some times a glass fuse was used on the fresh water
pump source and other times a resettable circuit breaker.

Your doing good, just remember to be sure there is a good ground source for
your clip lead.

Oh, the master breakers should not be in the overhead, and if not located
at the base of the steering column then perhaps they are in the lower front
load center, usually located behind the drivers side head light pannel.

Ralph..
Duh..I'm an idiot....haha. ok was totally using test lite wrong (been awhile and
thought the bar strip terminals were neg (ground)....
So- using the test lite correctly there is power to all fuses and circuit
breakers.
The wires to the pump do not work?? why don't know..break, short, loose
connection somewhere?

So ran new wire from rear load center around frig to pump...to red wire on
pump... (the 3 wires that are back there -yellow green and black/brown I think
are dead). When I touch the black pump wire to the copper water pipe the pump
works....
So now it's just a ground for the pump needed(suggestion ?) and I can get the
extra battery out of my kitchen....yes.

thank you, you've helped me out before a few times..

someday I hope to meet and put faces to names of the many who have helped me
learn so much about JP'S White Bird and systems. Making it possible for me to
keep, use and enjoy such a beast without breaking me...
I'm so tickled to feel like I can tackle these things with the help of these
forums and knowledgeable folks here who are so willing to guide the unskilled
tho enthusiastic...
