Backup Camera-Monitor
Hi or All, On my 99LX I have the origional sony back up camera and monitor and
it works just great. The problem Iam having with it is that when I put the coach
in reverse I lose the picture when I shift back into forward gear picture
returns. This is a new problem as it used to work just fine, any suggestions?

thanks

Hi Stephen: No, nothing changed. If the key is turned on and the engine is off
and you select reverse without starting the engine you get a good picture, when
you start the engine and select reverse you lose the picture???????

Does this happen when the coach is not running? That is just a curiosity question, it sounds more like you are pulling on a connector enough to break the connection when moving to the reverse position. You might try an ohm meter at the cable that plugs into the "TV" screen end of the cable that goes into the camera output, on the camera output end of the cable put a short. In short, on the cable that carries the output of the camera put a short, where that plugs into the TV put an ohm meter, if you loose continuity when shifting into reverse and it returns in forward look for a work or loose connector on that cable.
Advise is always worth what you pay for it. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks Bill
No, If I turn on the key and hit reverse it works ok, when I start the coach and
hit reverse the monitor goes blank. It's a touch pad shift so I doubt if there
is much movement.
Thanks

Check the GROUND(s); bad grounds cause all sorts of strange things to happen.  Unplug the camera and reconnect it; do the same with the monitor.

Backup Camera-Monitor
Thanks to all. I just looked into it again this past week. I disconnected the
camera, unpluged the cable's on the monitor followed wires as far as I could and
it still went blank when shifting to reverse. I have the camera cable and three
wires running into the back of the monitor. I discovered that if I disconect
the green wire the monitor will no longer come on when reverse is selected.
Then, when I put it in reverse and manually turn on the back-up system it all
work's normal. this is GREAT as I can remember to turn on the system if I want
to use it to back up. It always works normal in forward so for now that's the
way Iam using it. Thanks to all.
