Howdy.
I really don't understand how to use the Attachment section. How do I
attach a photo to a message to this Forum? Please explain in very
simple and detailed steps. :-)

NEED HELP USING ATTACHMENTS

Liz,
Most Yahoo groups don't allow posting of attachments or photos with their messages. Go to the group and sign in. Then take a look on the left side of the screen. Should see Photos and Files categories. Double click on the Photos section and you will see that photos are allowed (but not as attachments), and there is a provision to add a photo. Hopefully it's relatively intuitive.

Liz: No photo attachments to messages. There is a photo section where you
can create an album of your own and then simply refer people to that folder to
see what you want them to see. Look at the menu on the left side of the Forum
Message Page. Click on Photos.

If you have trouble, email Mike Bulriss and he will help you.

"work" needs to be qualified: I don't doubt that they may be seen under some
circumstances, but at least for me using e-mail that is not true.

It is possible they are inline with html (which I refuse to use for e-mail)
perhaps someone can comment. They are definitely NOT attached.

NEED HELP USING ATTACHMENTS
Liz, when you respond to a post or start a topic write it in" rich text" there is a hyperlink on the submission page.

above the typing area you have options. and in the page you can paste a photo from an online file. to add a photo to your post :
upload the photo to the photo's section in this forum or some place online. (the yahoo message uses that file to display the picture so you cant just copy and paste it from a file in your computer it needs to be on a public server.)
then copy and past it to your post . best to open another window with the photo in it , highlight the photo then go back to your post then paste it.

Below is a pic of me in high heels when you view it online but in an eamil it is a hyperlink to the pic file on my server at Rainbowrv.com

Don, I cant see what is wrong with html in an email. being that you post in a forum that broadcast your ip to the public and shows the ip to google bots , I figured you to be OUT as far as net security goes.

NEED HELP USING ATTACHMENTS
Probably not something we should pursue heavily in this forum, so just a short
answer.

You have absolutely confused privacy with net security. I am not a private
person - my physical location even is broadcast. I am, however, very careful
about net security. At one time 100% of viruses and trojans passed via e-mail.
Now it is probably down to something like a measly 98%, as other delivery
methods have developed slightly.

Text e-mail itself is 100% safe from exploits. Actual attachments are not, but
can be opened in applications that are 100% safe, or blocked at the server level
(you can't send me any form of executable, for example). Inline html used to be
a way to directly attack a computer, but now it is primarily a means of
obfuscating attacks, with social engineering.

Yahoo does not send attachments, but they may use inline imaging.
