PT-40 GVWR
I weighed my 1986 PT-40 6V92 for the first time yesterday at Flying J
after fueling and with full water. My weight slip showed total weight
of 41,720(12,400 fr, 21,400 dr, 7920 tag) which is only 280# from GVWR
per windshield data plate. I have 12R22.5 M111z Toyo LRH tires which
can handle weight (with appropriate pressure, disregarding data plate
85# recommendations) and the axles are maximum rated for individual
total of 48,300#. I am concerned as I prep for vacation this summer
touring western states with daughter that I will be overloaded per
GVWR when we put cloths, food, pets, and daughter on-board. Am I
being concerned unnecessarilly? Also curious about why the Blue Bird
Owners Manual lists a generic chassis GVWR of 44,000lbs for PT-40, is
this for 8V92 engined units with the 6V92 having 2,000lb lower rating?
