Alternator Schematics
Does anyone have the schematics for the alternator on a sp36? Specifically there
are four wires coming out of the back. 2 are probably 00 and appear to be the
ground and battery connections respectively. The other two look like they are 10
gauge and don't have any power. Do you know where they go?

Also where are all the fuse panels on the SP? I know there is one over the dash
and one over the bed. Any others I need to know about?

Thanks for all the help you guys provide.

You will need photos or case numbers of the alternator as it may not be original. The two smaller wires are usually remote excitation voltage and possibly a remote voltage sensor input. Sometimes they are taken from the same spot and other times the exciter wire goes to a common DC buss spot and the sensor goes to the top of the battery stack. I use Robert at Riviera Beach Generator in Riviera Beach, Florida. He is the king of all that rotates. 561-845-6665. He has rebuilt most of my fleet and I feel sorry for my flywheel after he finished my Leese-Neville on my 6V-92. You need to trace the wires out. If your exciter wire is broken, The alternator will not run. In either case, you should have 12vdc on 3 of the 4 wires as you pointed out, one is a ground. The big hot lead may have a diode isolator
involved external to the alternator which also could be a problem.
