Blown Engine
Was heading to Florida for a month from Versailles Ky. About 20 miles
from Knoxville Tn the engine bogged down and after getting it to the
emergency lane i checked and saw oil under the rear and on the car. We
got towed to the Kenworth shop about 1:30am. Saturday morning they
pulled the oil pan and found that the main bearing had spun and locked
the engine. From the looks of the damage i will need another engine.
Does anyone have any leads or information on a 6v92 detroit.

I relly never like to hear that kind of news. I do not know if this will help. I get emails from this company with specials on engines from time to time.

You might want to check with the Detroit Diesel group on Yahoo,

They might know a place to go...

Hey Paul,

I've got a 6v92TA DDEC in my 82 GMC RTS that runs good and have
decided I'm not going to convert this bus. Not sure about shipping
costs from Arizona but if interested let me know.

Regards, Michael

I have 2 6v92 engines removed from over the road tractors, one had a cab fire there is some melted wires and smoke signs, no damage to the engine, one has a rebuild label from a detroit rebuild shop. both were running until removal, price 1200 for both or 700 for one. Brandon FL.
