Replacement Seats
Hi there All

Looking to replace pilot and co-pilot seat on 1987 PT38 and looking to see if
any one has any good resource and suggestions. I found one site that looks
good, but not sure if the product is any good and without being able to touch
and feel, we are hoping someone else has. The site that i found was
http://www.discountrvfurniture.com

Thanks

Bradd and Hall in Indiana carry several brands of RV furniture.I bought all my replacement furniture through them.Their web sitehas a lot of info and they will send you samples ofcovering materials. When ordering pilot/co-pilot seats, pay particular attention to the seat 'skirt' and the cut-outs for the seat belts.

I just installed a couple of chairs from Brad and Hall in a coach I put flooring in. Very nice ultra leather and great workmanship. Don't know how much the owner paid for them, though. The seats are a direct fit to the original pedestals.

We recently installed National air ride seats in our 83 FC. These are real
comfortable and have terrific lumbar and back support. The seats have three
separately regulated air bags for the back. Also there is an optional add on
"Back Recycler" that can be set to randomly change pressure in the three back
bags. I did not install the air ride base (optional) because I wanted to
maintain the electric seat and lateral air control for the FC. Even without
that feature, these things are great.

I got turned on to the truck seat option after traveling over 5,000 miles cross
country to Q and back this past January in an 85 PT that was also equipped with
National air ride seats. There is no comparison to the living room style soft
seats really reduces stress and fatigue particularly on long runs.

These come in all levels of finish from utilitarian to fancy coach leather. Here
is a link to the ones we put in our 83.

FWIW, their pricing on sofas was about the same I paid to Camping World for a new Flexsteel sofa on _sale_. Their list prices are otherwise about 25-30% lower than CW list prices.
Hard to know the quality without seeing and sitting on the furniture. The site did have a place to order sample fabrics -- that would give you some idea about quality (thickness, etc.).
Perhaps they could give you referrals to buyers in your area where you could arrange to see some furniture they sold.
Main problem is that quality (for the long haul) is very difficult to evaluate. Even the cheapest furniture can look OK at first. It's what it looks like 3 to 5 years later. There are huge differences between a cheap sofa and an heirloom quality sofa. The cheap one gets dumped by the side of the road after 3 or 4 years. The good one gets recovered and used by successive generations (I had a sofa once owned and used by my grandparents).
