ShurFlo 5.7

My pressure sensor broke last year in FL& I came home & I had water coming out of my pump. I took it apart & found the part broken. I talked to Shur Flo & they sent me a whole new bottom of the pump with a new sensor. They wanted me to send the pump in but I talked them into sending me the new part. It's worked good so far.I was glad my pump was in an outside bay. Nothing got wet in side.

one right now and keep this one as a spare after ShurFlo replaces it,

but I'm also concerned of the remote possibility I bought too much

pump for my coach's plumbing system and a new one won't behave any

better. What do you think?

What number did you call to get to Shurflo? My sensor started
leaking and I put a smaller pump in till I can get the 5.7 repaired.

Oops, my mistake. The screw is under a cover on the new Extreme
pumps. I have some older ones with the screw exposed, and as David
notes, some don't have any adjustment screw.

I installed a Aquajet ES 3.5 gpm pump (vesus the 5.7 GPM) 10-24-04.
I chose this pump for several reasons: Less water use drycamping,
less amp requirements that matched the stock design, and reputation
that aquajet has less problems than shurflo. I had one problem when
new: the pump would run constantly (barely running when not under
load), then shut down after an hour or so. I turned the water
pressure adjustment screw 1/5 turn as per their manual's
troubleshooting, and no problems since.

I think Steven Birtles carries these now if you want to change brands.

It was the one in Indiana. IF you do call be sure to get the persons name you talked to. I had to end up making two call as the first women that I talked to didn't follow up on it & a week later I had to call again & go through the same thing with someone else. I'll look in the blue box tomorrow if you don't have the number.

Hi Ryan,
I had the same problem.
Voltage drop was the problem.
I solved the problem by running a hot wire direct from the pump to
the batteries, with a fuse in the line.
Problem solved.

Thanks for the advice, folks. I'll check for voltage drop and if
that's not the issue, I'll get the pump replaced under warranty, buy
an Aquajet and keep the Shurflo as a backup.

there to tie into a hot lead that will handle the power? Or am I going
to be tearing everything apart to fish a wire down to the batteries?

My original Surflo didn't have the screw to adjust the pressure. It was
under warrenty so sent it back and got one that had the screw.
Still had the problem, so drilled a hole under the bed to get a hot
wire to the batts.
Solved the problem.
