Going to get coach
Your line of thinking is parallel to mine except the prints for my coolant level sensor show the switch open. If the drawing is for normal conditions including full water in the puke tank then presumably the sender closes forming a circuit in abnormal conditions ie. low coolant.????Then the module sends a prompt to the DDEC II to go to ramp mode and cut off impulses to 4 of the EUI's. Presumably, it also disables the cruise enable also. It seems if the switch is normally open, if circuit wires were shorted or the module was shorted internally the indication prior to start would be "do not start" and a stop engine light, but I do not have enough schematics or books on the DDEC II to figure it out. What do you think?
I want to completely understand this system if possible. Maybe someone else understands the thing. I have gotten this far by studying my master
coach prints, the generic systems in the DD manual, an overall generic DDEC II schematic and talking to Glen Rogers at BB. He was on the line when my coach was built.
The coolant module is in the lower load center in the front of the coach. It has 5 wires and is a DDEC system. Ignition hot, ground all the way to the batteries, (this ground is tied into the ATEC trans system and the cruise enable also), data wire to the ECM and two wires to the sensor.

included in the coolant level warning there is a sensor/sender with two wires, on puke tank a seperate module unit with five wires, some place?' and wires' .

If the sender makes contactto complete a ground to prove proper coolant level, a short in the sender or module or wires could cause a false OK to operate signal.

If the sender loosing contact and not delivering continious ground is the signal that puts the bus in ramp mode ( 4 cylinder power) then the ground to the module could be disconnected.

if you remember back toa 94pt postabout loosing one of two DDec computer 12v+powerlinks from the battery to the Ddec and the post claimed that it was the power to 1/2 the cylinders. Ikinda think half the power is a wierd way to wire 1/2 a computer and always wondered why his bus would run on 4 cyls. since ramp mode is 4 cylinders, may have been the ground in the battery area (where the coolant module gets its ground) that when cleaned up( in the blind search for a fix), finaly kept the bus out of ramp????????

High coolant temp may not have worked if the water abruptly dumped into the crankcase but one should also expect high tranny temps in this case also. The sensors on my coach which can only safely be checked by hooking up a tester on the DDL are, coolant level, low oil pressure, high water temperature, and low fuel pressure.I have an optional coolant level module also. According to BB all should give an alarm if working properly and initiate Ramp Mode within 15 seconds of an event occurring outside the pre programmed parameters in the DDEC II. The buzzing
when the key is turned on checks the circuits integrity, not the integrety of the sensors themselves. I gotta
