Curt, in the turn signal switch is the stop light signal from the
air line. If the switch is as the signal-stat. I guess all you need
to do is remove the stoplight input to the switch then the turn
output to the rear would be turn signal only.
I think you should run the stop light in one wire and the brake
controller in one other wire the Brake controller signal is voltage
variable???? RunLight, StopLight, BrakeControl, LeftTurn Rightturn.

Turn Signal Wiring
I'll think more about this project in a few days. In the morning I'm heading to the river place for a couple days, stopping on the way to get the life time free oil change" for the Cummins. I service everything the dealer recommends, other than the oil/filter. An $11.00 fuel filter beats $165.00 the dealer cost to me, etc. The dealer keeps telling me I need the diff. drained and filed, and the additive that the 2002 unit called for. My book says in bold print that this is not necessary...leave it to DEALERS.

Talk to ya in a couple days.

Turn Signal Wiring
Hi guys.
Although I have not got down to the nitty gritty of things, like getting dirty, the FC is using the same principle.

On my coach, the wiring is like thes:
when I hit the brake all 4 rear brake lights come on.
when I turn the left or right turn signal , 2 lights on either side and one side light come on. AND when I have my headlights on, the corner light will work via a relay. This relay remain energized during the turn signal with a use of a capacitor - don't get bit from one of these.
NOW the problem I have :
When I turn on either turn signal - all is well, but then I step on my brakes, it overrides the turn signal, to me this has to change.
AS WELL, when I am pulling a long hill and turn my 4 way flashers on, my trailer brakes go on and
off, because of the way the circuit is designed.

GOODNEWS
I have a circuit to correct all of this but will have to wait till I get back to work.
This will do this for me:
1- when I hit my brakes, either air or retarder, the 4 brakes lights will come on
2 - when I hit either of my turn signals, top light will flash
3 - when I hit my 4 way flasher, both top lights will flash
4 - when I hit my brakes and turn signal, 3 of the lights will go bright and the top of either left or right will flash
5 - when I hit my brakes and 4 way flashers, bottom top will go on steady and top will flash.

Hope this helps

Bill, Can you see Russia from up there? maybe CurtS's RtWl and
LtwL relay is for the landing lights??? befor you go out on an
adventure check the toad hooked up and 4way flashing. I had the
pulsating brake thing creep uponce again after I hooked it up on my

Greg:
Hi to both you and Tim.
Nope, not quite far enough north LOL to see russia.
The biggest reason for me to change my brake light setup is that when I hit the brake the turn signalsare overriden.
I would like my turn signal to be maintained so people know what I am planning to do.
Curt, this think you call an interrupter, are you referring to a "diode".

It's called a Converter, 4 wire to 3 wire, converts 4 wire foreign to 3 wire US.

Turn Signal Wiring
I completed the install of the new wire loom this afternoon...it's run from the front of the coach to the rear...need to wire it up at each end...and test it out.

Tested the coach 12V panel some more. I made up a SS showing the panel test results. If you'd like a copy just email me. Appears that I can use the L/R DIRs poles, Stop Pole, Park/Tail pole. The brake signal uses the L/R DIR poles so I'll use those two for brake and directional. The Stop Pole will excite the brake controller. The Park/Tail will supply the trailer running lights.

I'll document what was done in more detail when I'm done with this project.
