hi Jon and all,

newbie poster and no BB
just an admirer.

anwho, we just went from a MH to a 5ver (7W) a couple of months ago
as we prepared to change gears and go fulltiming. as of a couple of
days ago, we are now house-free and loving it!!!

if you're full timing, the only insurance companies that I've been
able to identify are Progressive, GMAC, and Explorer RV (actually
Explorer is an insurance agency and I believe most of their policies
are underwritten by National (National Interstate, i believe).

found only one positive comment from a person who filed a claim with
Explorer/National the person was happy with the settlement on a
vandelism claim on a DP MH, and the quick appearance of the
settlement check. I haven't found anything negative about them from
searching the yahoo groups and the web.

from same searches, I had no problem finding negative things from RV
owners about GMAC and Progressive and couldn't find anything positive
about them.

One thing I did stumble across is that National evidently writes (or
wrote) a lot of commercial policies for 90+ years, including school
buses, mid and large trucks... so they might really be favorable to
BB's.

Explorer/National on an annualized basis, was just about half on the
preminum costs for the same coverage compared to GMAC and
Progressive. (their quote was for a 12 month period vs. the 6 month
for Progressive and GMAC). I think we're hesistant to jump to them
only because the quote was soo low (fickle at times aren't
we...) We still haven't made a decision (will within the week) on
which one we go with.

A non-related comment. This is one GREAT GROUP.
I really like seeing all the questions and varied responses each day.
Maybe some day we'll be BB's too but meanwhile, I'll just sit on the
side lines and learn the wealth that is shared here daily about RVing
in general and BB's in particular.
