I broke a glass electric hour meter on a private home and called the
Electric Company for a replacement. The parts quote of $3,400.00
was at the threshold of sending in a claim so I asked if I could
shop the parts and provide them to the installer. After a moment of
stunned silence and broken thought, the operator said I will have to
lookinto that posibility and get back to you. I contacted the
purchasing agent for the electric company ,then the
private /certified recalibration company they use. the operator of
the calibration company said we sell the surplus on ebay. Buy it now
$20.00 !!!!!

I bought two and a mounting cup for one ($60.00 total ). I may buy
another so I can mount to keep trac of energy usage of my bus. If
kwhours are high or change (like MPG tracking) it may prove a
battery or electrical issue. I used the other meter at my equipment
yard. I cant wait to see the expression on Tims friend who stores
his Airstream pluged in at my yard.

You may want to check out EZ Meter by Davitch Controls, the are much
smaller
and easy to install yourself to measure feeds like an RV drop. I use
one on a commercial building I own with an RV plug I use at the rear of
the building so my
tenant does not have to pay for my usage, great equipment.
