Re-upholtery of Couch

When Brenda and I redid our coach, we had the sofa done by a pro. We decided, that with a $90 walmart sewing machine, that we could do the booth. After a few hours of trying to remove the old fabric and tacks, we really had respect for the pros. But, we did it. Don't think we will tackle the captains chairs, yet.

Well, I got the hide a bed finished. It was a war and I won, I think..
War's take time, right? Less than $300 including an $89 Singer sewing
machine. It was my first time and it took about 50 hours and a case of
beer to mellow out. lol. I used a nice plaid which is quite difficult.
I did have to tear a couple of things apart and re-do. It is
professional grade now. I now understand why shops charge so much to
redo these things and I have great respect for the fit and finish
provided by BB tech's. I will post pictures in a couple of days.
I plan to attack the captains chairs next when I find the correct
color material.

My worst problem was trying to think upside down and line up the pattern. I would cut the left cushion piece and have to use it on the right. Wasted some material also. Since you do carpet you should be able to do the chairs no problem. Do carpet installers cut from the back side and mirror image the deal? Like Smoke N Mirrors. lol
