92WB Front electric heater

[ronmarabito2002]

My 92WB front electric heater is not receiving power to the relay
controlled by the thermostat. Does anyone know where the main feed
comes from or is routed. It is on the same circuit as the front A/C
and the A/C has power. I would appreciate any insight.

Howdy, Ron.

I want to be sure that I understand your situation. The bottom lever
on the wall thermostat is set to HEAT. The top lever is pushed to past
the room temperature. Can you hear the relay/contactor (behind the
front electrical heater) energizing? Let me know.

Everything, including the relay works. There is simply no line
voltage going into the relay. I have jumpered the heater and it is fine.

So I'm guessing Ron that your next move is to trace the 120V line to find
the fault. Broken wire or loose connection would be a guess. What do you
think?

This is true. One problem is the fact that the wire is buried and
cannot be traced visually. Randy has given me a place to start, so
that is next.

O.K. Randy, Rob and everyone:

Here is the skinny on the faulty front electric heat.

I went to the junction boxes and relays under the bedroom closet
floor. I first checked all the connections in the junction boxes.
They are all connected using these 4 terminal push-on splices. I
moved all of them. No change in conditions.

Second, I checked the three relays. All three were open with the
dash A/C switches off. Next I turned the front A/C switch to ON.
Checked to see which relay was activated. It was the relay on the
left. Checked all the splices. Went back to the front and Whalla!!!
We had front electric heat. It had to be a loose connection in one of
the splices at the relay.

PROBLEM SOLVED. Thanks Randy for leading me to the right place.

The other two relays obviously control power to the other two A/C
units.

Yes Rob. The galvanized box is on the left and the three relays are
in that box. The front relay is on the left.
