Securing window awning
I guess I have a broken spring on one of my small window awnings, as I
suddenly glanced in the mirror yesterday and found it open going down
the highway. Is there a way to secure the awning tube to keep it from
unrolling until I can get the spring replaced? Right now I have it
lashed up to the goat rail with bungies, but I'd like something a
little more "professional". Suggestions?

Scott I have used those plastic ties, you can push
them under the tube and secure them . you can get them
in var lengths and strengths, from most hardware
stores like home depot, lows , Menard's etc. they will
get you home but you have to cut them off.. also zip
Dee sell small hooks that you perm mount and hook and
unhook each time. also be sure that the springs are
tight. Had mine unroll in 70 mph winds going down the
road at about 6o mph. should have stoped and watched
the sunset , but you know how we are sometimes!
getting older and slower or smarter.

Scott,
Sounds like you did a pretty professional "shade tree" job. Thats what bungee
cords are for securing a load.
