RATS rally reservations

I'm not out to ruffle any feathers but here goes. On this one I have to agree
with Bob Loomas. You have some poor joker sitting on the waiting list for RATS
since last year. Now comes a cancellation and a fellow that decided yesterday
that he wants to go is able to jump the line. I know life is not fair but I will
not be a party to stacking the deck. I started to call Leroy the other day about
his spot but just felt it was not the right thing for "me to do". I think the
ones organizing the RATS should have it understood with the campground
management to allocate cancellations to the next person on the waiting list.

the campground has the list.

Is the waiting list specifically for Birders???? We don't know. That is why we
posted on the forum because we wanted to make sure that our spot would go to a
Birder that wanted to attend the RATS Rally rather than whoever happened to call
in to the campground "just looking for a spot for the weekend."

PLEASE let us know. If the waiting list is specifically for those Birders
wanting to attend RATS then we'll just cancel and let it go to the next Birder
on the list.

Thanx..... didn't mean to step on anyone's toes. Just trying to make sure a
Birder gets the spot as opposed to "Joe Schmo just passin' thru on vacation"
with no interest or knowledge of RATS.

We waited for someone to respond to our post. We then cancelled and gave the
park that persons name. He then called and took our place. If you just cancel, I
presume the next person on the list gets the spot.

reservations we made last fall. Our travel schedule doesn't allow us to make it
this year as we must be in Austin TX by no later than Nov 1st.

If anyone is interested in taking our spot as we cancel please let us know
SOON so that we can coordinate the timing and let the campground know who will
be calling them to reconfirm the spot they are holding for us.

Hi Everyone:

Please note that Twin Oaks Campground is not keeping a waiting list for this
year's RATS. I called them a couple of weeks ago, and again today after reading
the previous posts but they told me that they decided not to keep a waiting
list. I was advised by John Finn to stay at Fair Harbor where last year's RATS
was held and I have made reservations there. I would prefer to stay with
everyone at Twin Oaks if a spot is available.

if any of you that have reservations at twin oaks rv park for the RATS
rally and you are not going to make it,please call twin oaks and cancel
that reservation.
there are other group members from all sites that are on a waiting
list for a site.
