I never considered checking the sender in my tank because the amount

of water that is needed in the footprint of the tank would be major

if it was to hit and glow the warning. The fuel pickup most likely

is far enough off the bottom that 'at rest' water settling to the

bottom would not load up the filter on a startup. Once on the road

water gets sloshed up in the fuel feed, the filter water seperator

would show signs quick. the volumn of water necessary to glow a

warning light in the filter is way less that the volumn necessary

in the tank.

Given the posted reliability of the light ;A non illuminated water

in tank light is just as unsetteling as a false reading water in

tank glow. The only way to know if the light is working is to open

up the tank. I often thought of hooking the water in filter sender

to the dash water in tank indicator because if there is water in the

filter there is/was water in the tank.

in fuel. I took it for?a short drive &? the water in fuel light on

the center dash came on. It went on?& off for a while. When I got

home I checked the sending?unit on the main tank. The wire felt

loose like it was bad?in the unit. It is a push on. Does anyone know

if this is the unit that is wired to? the center dash on is the?

buzzer?on the bulkhead wired to it? Can this unit be removed without

out draining the tank. I don't think there is any water in the tank?

I do use a water?treatment?in my fuel??
