81 FC has a new home in Alabama
Tom and Peggy, I have come to know you guys for many years. First time I
talked to you was when you were in Washington working on a job.
When you came to our home, I think 5 years ago, and we --Ralph, Bim, you and
myself worked so hard on your coach we developed a deeper friendship that
words cannot express. That was the year we had 7 coaches tied into my home's
electric meter. Oh- we are still paying for all that.~~

I know this must have been a highly emotional time for you and Peggy. I had
the same experience when I was in the sailboat business. I hated to part with
something that I poured my life into.
When you and Peggy- and let's not forget Moggy- the cat- who loves to tear
open gashes in your arms, came to Weatherford at Walmart, KOA- you called
Brenda and I and we had a tremendous visit.
So Tom and Peggy, God Bless. I'm glad you are on my buddy list as we can
still keep in touch.
You have been a tremendous contributor here on the forum and the original
forum. Your knowledge about cold weather camping is priceless- please don't go
away. Ernie and Brenda Ekberg-83PT40 Texas/Montana

Hi to the group:

This will likely be my last post. I have sold my '81 Wanderlodge to Janet and
David Hawkins over in Alabama. They are really nice folks and when he logs on
to the forum I would expect you would give him a warm "Blue Bird Family"
welcome. He is excited about being the 3rd owner of this '81. He is very
mechanically inclined and I feel really good that our bird will have a wonderful
home.

Peggy and I had 10 wonderful years of living full-time in our bird. We
traveled extensively, did some great jobs as campground hosts and met tons of
fantastic people. I cannot imagine doing all we did in anything other than a
Blue Bird. It was truely a home and both Peggy and I were very sad to say
good-bye to her on Wednesday.

While I tried to give David a comprehensive rundown on all the systems, I am
sure he will have questions as things come up as they do with these old birds.
He has my number and knows he can call anytime, there will be things that come
up that I am sure the group can help him with.

I want to thank the group for all the information and support over the years.
The collective knowledge of this forum is awesome. Keep up the good work.

To borrow a phrase from my seafaring days:

May you all have fair winds and following sea.

Well said Tom. We all wish you & Peggy the very, very best. As Ernie
says in his reply, please stay in touch with this forum. We need your
wisdom & insight into these things that roll down the highway so well.
Best to you both in your next phase of life.
