Ford 391 motor
Hi Everyone,

I'm one of those "lurkers"
I am considering an early 70's FC with a Ford 391 gas engine in it.
Does anyone have experience with that motor?
Comments? pro / con
Is that a solid motor?
Big enough to do the job?

thanks in advance for your help.

Tom

I don't think there's much experience here with that motor. Might want to try
the FC-
Wanderlodge yahoo group to see if there's anyone there with one. There was one
for sale
on Ebay within the past year. I think parts for that engine may be an issue.
I'd check with
NAPA or truck parts suppliers before jumping in.

A 391 is the heavy-duty truck and bus version of the venerable Ford
390. Doesn't seem like a lot of motor for a bird, but it is much
more durable than the 390 out of somebody's 77 pickup.

Good idea. I'll post it to the FC site also.
Thank you all for your comments.
