What is the best day and time to go through Atlanta GA.
Do you take by pass or go straight up 75.
Want to travel in daylight hours.

We travel this route frequently and always stay on 75 straight through
Atlanta. We also use the HOV lane which is legal if there are two in the coach.
If
you aren't familiar with the HOV lane, if traveling south, get in it just
past the 285 split stay in the left lane to get in the HOV lane. You are not
supposed to exit the HOV lane unless there are broken white lines. Usually we
sail right through unless you happen to get in the work hour traffic from 4:30
to 6 or 6:30 PM. Of course, you should know the average speed limit in
Atlanta on any Interstate is 80 MPH. Hope this helps. L & G

.If you can avoid 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. I like to go
through at 2:00 AM straight up I-75

I was going to say 3 AM Monday morning but
then saw you wanted daylight hours, loads of
luck! Stay on I-75, cut her in half would be
my suggestion. The by-pass East is a mess, West
is not quite as bad. Either side you'll be running
into I-85 and I-20 traffic. Try 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM.
that's my best guess. Traffic will let up some after
the bypass then strengthen near the city center then
stack up again till you hit the bypass. the bypass
was the way to go when it opened now it is a mess.

No one else mentioned the day. Sunday is the day to go straight
through without any problems. Any other day is a zoo.
