Engine & Tranny problems 2
My oil gets upto and over 235 often. the water raises to 195 then
down. When I first got my bus 2005 I called Holland motors in
SanDiego and they said 250oil was warm but ok???????
Tranny health can effect water temp as if it is getting too warm,
there is less room left for the water heat loss. My 500 hp Cummins/
10 speed manual dump truck reacts quicker to cooling and I think it
is lack of a automatic tranny in the equation.

DonB makes note of it and I do see the value of digital gauges which
require no math or extrapolation. To shoot a temp of the oil filter
may be a good idea but that is a long walk. at idle the temps often
go up a bit before they lower after a hard run because the fan and
pump are low. I wish oiltemp gauge was an option that my bus did not
have.
