What's up with Bluebird?
Cerberus owns NABI main manufacturing Center in Anniston
It was announced previously that some BB may move there notably for
the ultra low floor buses for commuter service
it does presently show a duplication in services for the essentialy
the same product

Perhaps what you knew as Oneida no longer exists but
the product and name lives on. I ordered and received
an Oneida teflon fry pan last week, quality and appearence
seemed to equal the older much used one when it was new.
The sky has not fallen yet.

Ah but the sky has fallen Bob. Look on the pan and see where it was
made.......CHINA. That is why they have lost their high value
customers for products like their expensive silverware. They only
franchise their name now.

What's up with Bluebird?
Hey Ernie,
I'll stick with my BB FC. We can always find parts and repair,
The bigger concern would be, What will become of the Bird's Nest??
Will it be relocated to Montana, Ohio, or Al. ???
The freebes are the first to go.

I remember at the last RIV a top BB official made a comment about the possible
move of some departments to other plants. I remember Alabama was mentioned.

Tom, Your are right!, "Made in China" stamped right
there on the bottom next to the proud indian name
Oneida. Wife wondered, why I was looking?, told her,
just checking to see where it was made, her remark,
"everything else is"?

Tom,
Big corporations are chasing cheap labor. I remember when it seemed everything
was made in Japan then Taiwan, Mexico, Phillipines and now China. Next is
Vietnam then Afganistan, Iraq, ect.
If the big corporations keep cutting wages and benefits here in America before
long you will see these items marked "Made in America" again.

Kind of ironic, that the Oneida Corporation, formed by the collapse of a
communist
community would turn to a former communist country for its rebirth.
Most people have probably never guessed as they ate their dinner using Oneida
Ware that
it all grew out of one of the greatest free love Christian groups that ever
existed.

Kerry it was not a communist community, but instead was based on
complex marriage and perfectionism. The mansion house and facilities
are only a couple of miles from my home in Sherill, NY. Although it
was a christian community it was not a free love one.
