Naming our Bird

Naming our Bird
We've been thinking about names for some time, and have a list of possibles but
none have struck our fancy yet.

Now that we have the coach, we found some hand towels that have on them "Blue
Thunder" with Blue Bird Wanderlodge below that, and the image of a Blue Bird.

What is the liklihood that it was a prior name for the coach? Or could it be an
event? Anybody using that name that anybody knows of?

Paperwork we have for various service items tell us the last two owners: Jerry
Owens, variously from NC, TX, and AZ, from 2001-2004, and BJ Washburn, AZ,
2005-2006. Ring any bells?

Don: Blue Thunder is the name of a coach from Connecticut owned by
Richard & Marianne Ducci.

Are you seeing that name (and them) on anything newer than 2000? Could this be
their old coach?

"Blue Thunder" was the name we put on out 1990 PT40. We traded it in
2001 to Bleakley toward our present 1999 43'LXi. Bleakley sold it to
Jerry Owens the same day.

I remodled the interior around 1996 and still have the before and
after photos. Muriels did the uhpolstery, Carpets were done while at
the Birds Nest by a BB supplier and I did the tile and upgraded the
corian including matching light fixture. New chairs were by Villa.
The towels you found were made for the coach by using an iron-on
transfer.

I also made the bay storage unit with sliding counter that connects
to the gas grill. Nice coach! Get in touch if you need any other
information.

That is it! For whatever reason, the name has been removed from the front cap. I
would love to see the before/after pictures you have. My e-mail address is donb
at arcatapet.com, and no limit on attachments.

These coaches can tell a story, just find the
right page.

Well Don appears that you might revive the name
"Blue Thunder"? It's a beautiful coach and that
is an appropriate sounding name.

Yep (see sig line). It suits us better than anything we had been thinking about,
and it has a "history" besides!

Hi Don,

I think Jerry Owen had some painting done on Blue Thunder, maybe
covered the name then. I hope the mural is still on the back. Steve
Gahn air brushed that for us around '95. Truly was a talented guy. I
will dig up the pictures and either scan or get them duplicated for
you. Good luck with your coach and I hope she brings you as much
enjoyment as she did for us.

Mural is still there. Coming from the Safari world, gotta appreciate a mural!

I look forward to seeing the pictures.
