What are some of the BB outings for year 2005? I am experiencing some
resistance to the purchase by my sig-other and would like to fly with
her to spend some time with a group experienced with the Wanderlodge
and the fun of RVing in same. Maybe the group experience will rub off
on her :-) Thanks .... Bob .... in Sacramento

Good morning, Bob,

As an fyi, our "fledgeling" Washington State Blue Bird group is having its
second 2005 retreat this coming June 24-26. There will be 8 Birds there. Most of
us flocked together for our very first retreat just last month and had such a
good time, we said, "Let's do it again soon!"

The June retreat is at Pacific Beach Resort and Conference Center in Pacific
Beach, WA, about 150 miles southwest of Seattle
(http://www.navylifepnw.com/site/68/Pacific-Beach.aspx). My understanding is
that it is a former naval installation that is now a resort for military and
their guests--as retired military, one of our WA Birders, Marv, organized the
retreat. The actual RV slots are already filled up, but if you were to take a
nice vacation drive up to the Pacific Northwest from Sacramento, perhaps you
could still come and hang out with us. I have CCed Marv on this e-mail, so
perhaps he could tell you more about those possibilities.

I'm the female contingency of our Bird's nest, and speaking as such, I can say
that these outings and RVing in a Blue Bird are just wonderful! You meet the
nicest people! I feel we have all the comforts of home, and I wasn't sure I'd
feel that way in any RV until I saw and experienced the inside of a Bird--even
one without slide-outs! Our '83 of course does not have slide-outs, and it still
feels very open and spacious to me. I think your sweetie would be very nicely
surprised. When we did "guided tours" of each other's coaches at the March
retreat, I was amazed at all the variety of floorplans, decor, etc.!

Well, maybe we'll get a chance to meet you all!

Best regards,

Jo-Ski (and Stew)
