UPDATE: 87-89FC Throttle Cable

UPDATE: 87-89FC Throttle Cable
I just uploaded a file to the files section.
The name of the file is 87FC35_Throttle_Cable.pdf
It is the drawing from Bendix of the Throttle/Cruise cable.

Teleflex/Morse P/N D-303192-000-0047.8
Bendix P/N 102735

(These numbers are also on the drawing.)

Those with 87-89FC coaches will want to print this off
for your records. You will also want to open the doghouse, and have
someone watch as you run the accelerator cable, and make sure the
cable is not rubbing on anything as it moves.

An update as for my coach. After breaking this cable over a year ago,
it was repaired and made to work, however recently I was enlightened
to find out I was not getting Full Throttle (Thanks to Dave Thompson
for swapping coaches with me and comparing notes). After 3 weeks in
the shop trying to obtain the above mentioned part, we decided to go
ahead and try to modify the existing one again to make it work better.
The mechanic created a new mount such that the cable now has a nice
straight line to the fuel pump lever, as well as some other adjusting,
and I am now getting much better performance, and what I believe to be
full throttle (or at least very close to it).

There is an ongoing effort to try to get these cables made, and I will
post an update on that effort when I learn more.

Rick,

Got It.

Thanks for the drawing and info. I'm sure I be checking that throttle cable
before going anywhere.

Thanks Rick for uploading this drawing.
The late model FC owners would be interested in any further
information.

Thanks Again
