Rear Vision LCD
I'm shopping for a color rear vision LCD. I'm wondering if a DVD Player
will work? Has anyone tried this...pros...cons?

My new camera and lens arrives next week. I'll test it with a DVD player
that I have.

Curt either the camera or the monitor must have a horizontal image
reversing capability so that you see the rear view in the proper perspective.

I forgot to add that normally there are 7" LCD TFT monitors on Ebay that
have this switching ability.

Curt/Nick If your camera and/or LCD monitor has a reverse image make sure
it reverses the image horizontally (right to left). Some of the
/cameras/monitors reverse the screen image vertically. If there is not an
external switch on either the camera or the monitor to switch the image
horizontally.........then it cant be done unless you buy another piece of
equipment to do it.

Thanks Tom,
Camera Spec. Sheet reads "Mirror Reverse Picture - Switchable". I'm okay.

Can I ask a dumb question?

Let's say you didn't have a reversible picture.

Fine. So mount it just *behind* you and to one side?

In other words, look over your shoulder such as any biker or car-person
is used to doing and the image will make perfect sense, right?

It will work......better yet, you can get units that attach to the roof and
the screen
flips down to be seen..... but....you get what you pay for....that means
resolution...
