1995 42' "switch Question
Hi,
For those of you who own a 95 42' I have a "switch" question. Does anyone have a "hi/lo" battery charger toggle switch in thier outside utility electrical cabinet, roadside where your 50Amp cord wraps up. If not is it located somewhere else in your coach? The switch flips a 75amp Bosch relay to either allow both or 1 of the harts to charge the batteries according to the drawings when the coach is plugged in. Thanks in advance for any replies......... No such switch in my coach -- at least not where I've seen it.
However mine is (1) all electric, (2) has dual 2500 watt inverters, (3) has a Link 2000-R controller installed by a previous owner. I also won't pretend to say I fully understand all that goes on with the charging circuits but it seems like they're working pretty well so far. Pete Masterson aeonix1@... 1995 42' "switch Question
I believe what you have may be the predecessor to the inverter control
panel that allows one to change the charge rate of the inverter/chargers to allow for use on a 30 amp (or less) hookup. The two chargers, if you batteries are quite low will suck up a large portion of the available total of the 30 amp circuit. When connected to a 50 amp (100 amps available) shore connection there is plenty of power and the chargers need not be cut back. If the batteries are at or near a full charge it does not make a difference as the power consumption of the chargers will be minimal. The switch is not needed if the function can be controlled from the inverter monitor panel. Rich D. Hi Kids. My 94 is set up that way. Switch is in the electrical cord bay and
is a hi/low. Hi allows two convertors to supply batteries and Lo cuts it down to a single convertor. It sounds like Rich is on to something.
Further, if you have the panels without the front-panel functions, they are changed by removing the monitor panel from the armrest area, and changing dip-switch settings on the back.
