front air bags/susp dump light
Hi all,
Was getting ready for a little road trip and Sad .....a previous problem
recurred. The air isn't coming up on front bags, susp dump light on.
This happened once before and a mobile wrench came and tapped on a
valve underneath the coach and it hadn't been a problem since. I have
tapped to no avail, not sure how strong of tap is ok. How difficult is
it to remove and clean that valve etc. Little things like this are
probably why I shouldn't try to keep and use my little brother's
coach, Sad. For someone who likes to wrench and knows how, these little
fixes are free and relatively simple, but for myself and my 84 year old
mom it gets spendy when we have to pay someone for every little thing.
Thought we were about ready to roll for summer trips etc.
The turbo cat runs great, all fluids fresh, everything lubed...
The rear bags are fine. Was hoping to get away a few days but rats,
mobile wrench not available until next week.
On our last outing a month ago everything worked great. (With the
exception of dripping of the waste/gray ....(blue with the aqua
treatment)....the tanks were not full, the drip started after we
dumped. The valves were hard to get open, (my first time dumping) then
at first the gray water valve didn't want to stay fastened, it would be
loose after we traveled a bit. Finally got it to stay closed but the
drip didn't stop. When I can get the air up, will go dump and make sure
the tanks are empty and check the gaskets..?
Sorry this is so long.
Looking forward to taking the coach out for some exercise.

It sounds like a sticky dump valve on the front suspension. Wait
until the air pressure is up, then cycle the dump switch a couple of
times.

I had this problem in the rear. I ended up taking off the bottom nut for
height control rod (very easy, 1/4 nut 7/16 wrench) and cycling the valve
(moving the rod up and down) a bunch of times. I ended up making a new
adjustable rod using rod ends two give myself easy adjustments but just
cycling it seemed to cure the problem. In the past my bus sat a lot so I
thing the valve got a bit sticky.

It is a simple shuttle valve, I believe around the $40 range from a
parts supplier, have not tried cleaning one.

Rose Mary,

Jeff is on the road right now.

I believe the BB part # for what you are looking for is 0982280.
It's called a "relay valve, pilot controlled". Vendor # is, WM #147-
P. It probably has 1/4" pipe fittings.

There is one in the front, and two in the rear, associated with the
leveling valves (1 in front, 2 in rear). I gather from the thread
that your front one may be sticking.

You could always call BB to confirm this #.
