Generator Won't Start?

Generator Won't Start?
Mike,
So you kil the engine by shutting of the 12 VDC at your
newly installed disconnect switch? Hummmm....another piece
of meat on the platter.

Let me see,,,,(stroking my chin)

Don't know what the alternator would do in a case where
the alternator needed the battery reference for to
operate a regulator. No output control?

This is a diesel motor, right?
You can bypass circuits with a length of wire.
Do you have a 12 V test light, or Meter?

You have a start/stop station at the genset?
Press the stop and at the same time check the voltage
at either on of the glow plugs.

Got voltage? Good!
No voltage, gotta do it a different way.
Starter spin fast? or have you worn it down?
Need a good battery, motor needs to spin fast.
Fuel at the injector pump?
Good!
Remember, bleed the system of all air. Air compressses
in the fuel line and the injectors won't open.
If the starter spins fast,and
There is voltage at the glow pugs, and
There is fuel going into the injectors, and
There is no air in the fuel lines, and
The engine still won't start
There is a possibility that one of your injectors
is stuck open not allowing a pressure build in
the fuel. It may start and run rough as a cob but
if it doesn't settle down and run smoothly then one
or more of the injector lines will need to be bled.

Before getting into doing anything else, lets hear
from you.
Bob
