New Tires
Getting ready to buy 6 new tires for my bird. Any advice on the best
brand to get? I am able to get 6 new 22.5 x 11 load range "H" Kumho
tires for under 2K installed where the bus sets now (includes $80.00
service call)....would this be a good choice?
Thanks

I installed Kumhos on my toter home and they work very well. However, nothing
rides as well as a Michelin.

That doesn't sound bad, I had tires priced out at 2400.00. They were
bridgestones. Of course I have to take the coach to them.

Chris, I use a mobile tire dealer with my dump trucks, the only prob is
with the steer. If the mobile dealer is set up to balance them onsite,
the balance system is not accurate. Good tire casings (tires that are
retreadable) get me a $50.00 credit. Junk tires cause a $10.00 disposal
fee.

If you have a Les Swab dealer in your area check them out I got 4
new tires for around $1300 tax included. I really like dealing with
Les Swab as they believe in service first!!! Nice just to take the
motor home anytime I want to down and have the air pressure checked
for free!

The prices mentioned in this thread are only for 11R22.5 Those of us
with 12R are not so fortunate. Les Swab quoted me around $450 plus plus
plus. Seems that not all mfrs. make a suitable 12R. I would also be
concered that some of the off makes could be noisy. Both Goodyear and
Michelin make more than one tire for our application.

Its not the price of the tires that are important.it is the quality
and how well they suit the coach. What kind of tires did you buy for
$1300 tax included, what ply rating and what kind of tread?

New Tires
I put Oshei tires from Les Schwab with 12R's. Cost $250 ea. Use them
on my work trucks...good for 50,000 miles. Don't notice any diff. from
the Mich. that were on the bird from before.

I am somewhat concerned about tire noise but with the engine noise I don't think
I would notice any difference. Has there been any problems with Kuhmos?
