How do you tell if the kingpins are worn on an SP36?
I ran over a pothole yesterday and I thought I felt (and I know
I heard) a momentary metallic rattle coming from the right front
wheel area. I later parked it and jacked up the right front
but felt no play in the wheel assembly. Am I worried about
nothing?

Chuck When I get mine inspected once a year at the Shop where I have my
repairs made He lifts the front wheel off the floor & checks it for play.
He puts a bar under the tire to do that. That is the way they do it here. Do
you have a annually inspection in Ohio?

Hi Don,
No, we have escaped this ripoff so far.

Hi Bill
You are actually mistaken on that annual inspection thing. Ohio was one of the
first states to do the annual inspections, back in 1957. I lived in Kentucky
during that time and remember feeling good by NOT living in Ohio. Slowly almost
or all the states followed Ohio's path and started inspections. HOWEVER, Ohio
was the first state again to get rid of these anual inspections, and no other
states I know of followed suit this time. SO, you are lucky here, but once upon
a time Ohio was ripping people too. Now Don, myself and many others get to do
the inspection routine, but I don't mind it since I have a Blue-Bird garage go
over my coach anyhow and check all the things I cannot do myself, like brakes,
king pins, etc.
