Diesel Performance Products: Propane imjection?

Diesel Performance Products: Propane imjection?
I just read some interesting things about this system. I am sceptical!
If the claims of improved performance are true this could be something
worth pursuing. Has anyone here tried one of these setups? Any
problems? If one could use the propane injection at will it sounds like
the diesel equivalent of Nitrous! Well not quite but similar.

Hi Bruce,

Yes, I have used it and personally know several others that have used the
"propane injection". The propane is utilized like a catalyst, increasing
the diesel burn from approximately 75% to approximately 95%. This is where
the power increase really comes from. There is an increase in mileage and a
decrease in temperatures and emissions. I would have installed it on our
Bird except it was all electric (no propane) and I would have had to install
a propane tank. Our current coach seems to have sufficient power as is,
though I have not ruled out the possibility of installing propane at a later
date.

THank you George. I thought it might be good for mountain driving or
when you encounter severe head winds.

THanks: Bruce wanabe

George: Do you have any pics of the paint job from Navaros?

Hi Bruce,

Yep, excellent in the hills. Once when we were going thru the Rockies on US
26 towards Jackson Hole, WY, I had to back off the throttle to keep from
over running the cars. Sometimes I used it for better acceleration like when
entering a freeway. I had mine set up so that I could control it manually or
put it on automatic where it came on whenever the manifold pressure went
above normal cruise.

I can only find one pict of the old bus on this computer, but we can't send
attachments on this forum. Give me your email address and I will send it to
you.

Bruce I too was at Navaroos earlier this year and have a collection of photos
of a bird that had just been painted but not clear coated. If you are
interested I could send you some.
