my cruise control was disconnected when i bought the unit, the folks
at blue bird say the air compressor is located behind the left step
slot in the front bumper.
looking there i see a new brass plug installed and two rubber hoses
that look like vacuum hoses.
what goes their and who has one??
Thanks always for your responses

I am working on the cruise control, i have installed a new vacuum
control. When looking at the cruise control i have a round disc
attached to a chain which is connected to the cruise control which i
believe attaches to the throttle lever..their is also a metal slide
which is connected to a rod which also connects to the throttle lever.
Does anyone know what it does? it has been disconnected. Is their any
way to test the cruise control setting still?

No way to test it without driving it to my knowledge. I know the slide arm of
which you
speak but I don't know what it is attached to. My coach is in storage. Which
vacuum control
did you replace?

I am not familiar with your year model. In the 87
you can turn the cruise control ON then press and
release the RESUME rocker to the desired rpm. You
might try this standing still, and you could try
holding the SET control for 2 seconds. Keep your
foot off the brake.

On our '81 FC, the ball chain is attatched to throttle linkage right above the
throttle cable. If we are talking about the same part, the slide arm is part of
the transmission kick down/shift point system. If it has never been attatched, I
can't see how your tranny could have been shifting correctly, so maye this is
something else.

Where were you able to find a replacement? How much was it? I thought they were
no longer
available.

My 84 35Fc would work on high idle if I hit the cruise, twice, if my old
memory serves me right.
