I sent any earlier message, John Bleakley motors in Macon, Ga. sells and works
on a lot of BB. ask for russell in parts 1-877-456-3700. I have not tested mine
yet, i will let you know. I

cruise control
In theroy, if we are talking about the same thing, the longer it is, the faster
the torque converter will go into lockup and the later you will get a downshift.
The shorter you make it, the reverse should be true. I have mine shortened up
somewhat to hold gears a little longer due to our mountianous terrain (read:
lots of big hills that makes Pokey go real slow). Let me know how it works out.

Maybe I did not do it correctly... I reved the engine up to about 1k rpms and
hit the cruise set rocker, no good... I then reved up to 1k and hit the set
twice, no luck... I also hit resume with the same sequence, no luck... Maybe
some one can come up with the proper sequence it may work...

You need air pressure on the air/Bendix cruise ('84 up on FC).

You don't need to rev it, parking brake on, turn on cruise, then hit
resume, hit it again for higher idle, set for lower idle, touch
brake to cancel (I might have resume and set backwards, but am
pretty sure).

Although the downsift Bowden cable will affect the shift points, I
don't believe it will change the torque-converter lockup point.
