Does anyone have the proper ride height of a 1993 PT-40 handy?

Steve,

I just asked this same very question a week or so ago. The response
was for my 1992:

Steer Axle: 6.75"
Rockwell Drive Axle: 8.31"
Eaton Drive Axle: 8.06"

My coach has a Rockwell axle.

I was told the numbers where pulled from teh Ridewell doc, which I
recalled having a copy in my blue box. If you have the blue box
that came with your coach, see if the Ridewell Allaire suspension
service manual is there. It will give you the ride heights of the
air bags like I listed above, and will give you the directions on
how to measure and adjust them.

If you do not have the manual, I can copy the pages that deal with
adjustment and fax, mail, or email them to you.

was on air bag height. I am going to adjust the bags as per these
specs, but want to know if after doing that the coach is at the
proper height Bluebird recommends.

Steve,

Sorry about that, I misunderstood. Are you looking for the
recommended BB bag heights, or the recommended height to the top of
the wheel well or something similar?

I have come to the conclusion that I do not believe I can adjust mine
as I do not have a service bay or pit to get under the coach. And
doing it any other way appears to be too dangerous to attempt. So I
am generating a list of things to have done, and that will be one of
them. Now if I can find a place some where in central texas where
they will allow me to steal sometime over their pit, then I will do
it myself Smile

I had the bags adjusted yesterday to the specs that I gave you and
the front was way too low!!! I just got off the phone with Jessie at
BB he tells me that the proper bag inflations are FRONT 8", REARS 8
1/2 ". That is for my 1993

Steve,

Thanks for the info. I don't know of any differences between 1992
and 1993 that would leave me to believe that mine would be
different. But guess I will check with BB to verify before I have
mine set to 8" & 8 1/2".

One thing I notice about mine right now, is that when I air up the
drive and front, the front comes way up, but I get less than 1/2"
additional clearance in the back. But when I air up the tag, I get
quite a bit of movement in the back.

I discovered that when the suspension and the tag are both dumped and
you turn on the suspension switch only, the front is the only thing
that inflates. When you turn on the tag switch both tags and rear
inflate, strange. Perhaps someone has the answer why.

Now that I have the air bags figured out the refrigerator, NDR 1292,
quits, questions on that to follow.

Ride Height
That should not be! when you pressure up the main both front axle and drive axle
should come up. Tag should come up with second swtich. Set up this way for
getting coach in tight spots you can lift tag axle!

Ride Height
What you say makes a sense. Like I said, my back end does not come
up but about 1/2" when just the suspension switch is placed in up
position, but comes up fully when I air up the tag. Once the full
chassis is aired up by airing up the tag, when I dump the tag the
back stays up. In fact because the back right side appears to be
higher then that left, the right rear tag comes off the ground when
the tag air is removed.

Ride Height
Certainly sounds like it shouldn't be, but add me to the anecdotal list that
says it is working that way. I'm still very new to this, and have been in some
tight campgrounds this trip, so I've tried to be conscientious about leaving the
tag un-aired when departing; I've noted how low the rear was when I hooked my
toad up. It does not drop when the tag is deflated on arrival.

The answer on departure appears to be air everything up, then release the tag
air. Why? I don't know.
