I've got a 91 WB with a Powertech Generator with a large hole in the
muffler. Coach is located in Orlando area. Two questions: 1. I crawled under the coach (not much room) to see where the problem was. Is this a do it yourself job, and if so, where can I get the muffler? 2. If not a do it yourself project, then what shops would someone recommend? I have spoken to the Powertech folks and they were iffy at best as to working on the exhaust. |

I've got a 91 WB 40 with a big hole in the muffler. Called Bluebird
and spoke with Benny and with the Parts Department. Didn't have one available and suggested I just go to NAPA. They gave me a Walker Part number of 22255. I've tried a NAPA stoer and a Discount Auto store with no luck. They can't come up with a cross reference to that number and believe that it is an old number. Anybody know if there is a superced number or of a substitute part number or of a source that might have this part. Tom Gibbs 91wb40 Cudjoe Key, FL |

You need to look in the Walker heavy duty muffler
system. http://tinyurl.com/8ne7e Tom 1982 FC35 Vernon Center,NY At 09:52 PM 7/28/2005 +0000, you wrote: >I've got a 91 WB 40 with a big hole in the muffler. Thanks. I clikced on the link you provided and it took me to a
custom muffler page. Looked all over the site and couldn't find anywhere that I could locate this muffler by the part number that BB gave me. I will email Walker Technical support to see if they can help. Tom I can see why you have trouble finding a muffler YOU DONT READ!!!!!!!
My god friend you have to do a little bit of the work. You would waste their technical support staffs time instead of just doing a little work yourself. Go to muffler styles and Its a style 9, 4" inlet 10 X 15" 36" shell length with an overall length of 39", part number 22255. These kinds of things are easy to research on the internet but you have to spend a few minutes reading. If you are not willing to do that then I would suggest you take the coach to someone that can repair it. tom 1982 FC35 Vernon Center,Ny At 11:36 AM 7/29/2005 +0000, you wrote: >Thanks. I am going to answer my own email.
What I should have asked first is Bill do you know how to use the internet? If not then that would account for why you didnt find the information from the URL that I posted. I forget sometimes that not everyone on the forum has the same level of expertise either working on motorhomes or researching information on the internet. I have been using the internet for over 30 years now(starting with the Arpa net when I was at a government lab). And no I am not Al Gore and I didnt discover the internet. This muffler issue is a perfect example of how people can easily overlook information if they dont know how to access the information on a URL. I have a tremendous amount of information on Bluebirds specifically my 1982 FC35 but also on other models and years. It took me a lot of time researching on the internet to find it, download it, print it out and file it in plastic protectors and then into loose leaf notebooks, 12 of them now to be precise. I do the same things with information that people post about specific fixes, parts etc and that information is filed in mailboxes within Eudora by subject, for example Cat 3208, DD6V92, generator etc. I also carry with me at all times either in my Jeep when I am not travelling or in the motorhome when we are, a small spiral ring notebook about 5" X 7" and about 1/2" thick with information on different parts of my coach. When I work on something on the coach I write it down on a page with all of the part numbers etc from the part or parts and then later get the information for where to buy it and the new part numbers etc. It makes it a lot easier when I need a new part because everything is at my fingertips. Maybe we should take a couple of polls to see how many on the forum need help in using the internet and researching items. I am willing to help anyone like most other people on this forum. But if we go to all of the trouble to try and help you the ball is in your court, and if you are having a problem using the information then please tell us so we can get it straightened out. tom 1982 FC35 Vernon Center,NY At 09:47 AM 7/29/2005 -0400, you wrote: >Tom I can see why you have trouble finding a muffler YOU DONT READ!!!!!!! >My god friend you have to do a little bit of the work.
