Hi Charlie,

What's the model number of the Samsung Smart TV? If we had that then we could look up the manual to see what kind of audio outputs it has. I did a search for a 32" Samsung Smart TV and came up with this: UN32H5203AFXZA. This TV has a digital optical audio out and a 3.5mm stereo output. Cables are available to go from the 3.5mm to RCA stereo outputs for your receiver. If your TV has this it's probably a better approach to an off-the-shelf digital to analog converter box of dubious sound quality.
