There are led strips that can be cut in groups of 3 or 4 to work on
12Volts, $5-6 a foot http://www.sailorsams.com/mall/led-rope-...olt%20LED% 20ROPE%20Light Has anyone tried these? If they work it would be huge power and battery savings, around 1 watt vs. 15watts and it's about the price of a replacement bulb. Regards, GPSGary 84FC35SB |

There as a lngthy discussion in another forum on this subject. It seesm the strips do not put very much light. Many people complained about short life. When I was in the "big tent" at Q there was a vendor selling those strips. While I waited to ask him some questions 2 irate customers were asking about refunds/replacements for their lights!! No thanks. Probably Chinese quality control. Bruce 1988 FC 35 |

There are a number of different versions of LED strips. Many here saw my LED
Blue Bird Logo at RATS or Q, and know how bright it was. It was made with these strips: http://www.oznium.com/led-strip-flat-head Don Bradner 90 PT40 "Blue Thunder" My location: http://www.bbirdmaps.com/user2.cfm?user=1 On 2/9/2009 at 2:18 AM birdshill123 wrote: >GPS Gary: > > There as a lngthy discussion in another forum on this subject. When we aquired our coach, most of the Flourescent lights did not
work, or were so dim they might as well not be on. ( disconnected these at the switch, so they would not be left "on" and use power). I had a few 12V twin tube Flourcents left over from my boat and found that they just fit on the sides of the A/C shrouds. Perhaps not as bright as the Bluebirds originals, but very adaquite for our use. Can use one tube to save batterys or both for more light. I bought them from Whitneys, and at about $15 each, they were priced right. Is there a source for windshields for a 77fc35 other than the factory? I have some moderate cracks and rock chips in my windshields. Not enough that I wanted to replace them today, but I had been planning to buy a set or two to put aside for a future replacement.

The coaches based on the school bus chassis (i.e. the pre 1989 wide body) can use a windshield for the Blue Bird school busses. So, they are widely available from vehicle glass companies. From what I've heard, pricing from the factory (the school bus side) is very competitive. The windshields are also stocked at the several Blue Bird school bus distributors around the country. It pays to shop around, but the best deal is likely direct from the school bus factory or from on of the BB school bus distributors.
In the mean time, you can try one of those windshieldfix-it kits from an auto-parts store. They work fairly well for smaller cracks/chips. The more vertical orientation of the BB windshield (as compared to the typical automobile) makes some kits a little harder to use due to the direction of gravity, so (try to) read the instruction sheet before buying.
