air chamber
I'm looking. My book shows one of 4 air chamber manufacturers. Bendix, Mid-Ross, MGM, Anchorlok. I don't know which one it is yet. Still looking.

Leroy,
My 91 came with the MGM air chambers. For some reason, they were like a foreign commodity around here, so I went with the dime-a-dozen Bendix which you can find in any truck stop in case you needed one on the road. Mike. What is that 3/8" pipe for that was attached to a rubber grommet on the top rear of the air chamber? It is just a slide in fit. Vent, exhaust???? I believe mine are MGM's also. That little rubber grommet is rotted and I would like to change it. Everything works fine on mine but Jamie has a leak probably internal in the air chamber. The air is down on my coach and I am to large to get under there to see the make and model.

air chamber
Leroy,
From *memory* (always scary), I *thought* it was just an exhaust vent. I may stop by the shop to look tonight or tomorrow when I take it out to the LSB rally. By the way, I believe most of the Birds came with the MGM air chambers. If you search on the forum for MGM, you will see many posts on that subject. Lot of them get changed out to Bendix due to availability. Mike Bulriss 1991 WB40 "Texas Minivan" San Antonio, TX --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, Leroy Eckert wrote: > > Mike. air chamber
This is what I think, cannot prove it yet. Still looking.
I think the air chamber is an MGM 30/36 and the tube is nothing more than a vent to allow air in the non-pressurized side to escape when it is actuated. It probably does not make any difference if it is cracked because mine are also and everything is OK. I actually have one tube missing. If you are getting air out of that hose the unit is probably leaking internally around the rod and the unit needs to be replaced. According to what I have read they should be replaced in pairs and with the exact model or equivalent. There are long and short stroke models. I suspect ours are long stroke but I cannot get my b f a under the bus with the air down to get the model and pn. Some BB owners have replaced theirs with Bendix which are less expensive. I need to find the tube and rubber grommet for mine or replace the units. Mine are not leaking at this time. Can you see the model and pn on the unit? Leroy gasparillaglass

Leroy,
I can verify that the air chamber is an MGM 30/36. If you need a model and part number, I have them out on the floor at the shop and can check it for you. Let me know. Thanks Mike. If they are out great otherwise it really is not any big deal. I would like to find the rubber grommet. If not I can just replace them just as easily.
