Forum Success Story
I was traveling alone, Sunday, returning from the Myrtle Beach Rally.
The plan was to meet Patty in Savanna, I had some time to kill and stopped at a National Forest Visitor Center. When it was time to leave the Cat would not start, With meter in hand, a few wrenches and a heavy duty jumper cable, I decided the starter was dead. Lots of time to kill until Cat opened the next day. So I called a few forum members for some moral support and to confirm my find, Sunday afternoon I could not contact anyone, no one at home. My first call back was Ralph the Ground wire expert. I told him all the testing and checking I had done. Ralph persisted to recheck the grounds, I just installed new batteries, and cleaned all the battery grounds. Ralph persisted again, the starter ground, ( I cleaned this ground about two years ago). A quick connections with the jumper cable and the Cat was purring, I was stranded with that sinking feeling, In five minutes I was up and running. All made possible by a forum member. I have read every post since the beginning of time, I just can not remember them all , when stranded and bewildered.. Many thanks to Ralph and all forum members. Bill & Patty Pape 88 FC |
