Doug's gen problems
Jim here in MT with my new 8135FCRB. I don't have any answers, I'm
having a very similar gen problem, except I think I might have a switch stuck in the run position. Even with the gen battery disconnected, when I have the key to the on position, the gen starter is cranking. Finally had to get the gen out with the compressor so that I could disconnect the power to the starter. At least I can start the bird now and get air to slide the gen out. Any of your solutions may help me, thanks in advance. Jim |

Doug's gen problems
Jim,
I worked on a piece of equipment just a few weeks ago that had this same problem. Turned out the starter soleniod had stuck in the start position. I am guessing this could be your issue and it is getting power from the coach battery charging system when you start the coach. I'd remove the starter and have it checked out, or at least disconnect it and see if the solenoid engagement terminal should be the small wire, not the heavy battery lead) is hot when you start the Cat, if not, the solenoid is stuck. Good Luck, Doug cortezfenn Jim here in MT with my new 8135FCRB. I don't have any answers, I'm having a very similar gen problem, except I think I might have a switch stuck in the run position. Doug's gen problems
Ernie, I am in Bigfork. One of my few travels that far east was years
ago on my way to Billings in our Southwind motorhome when I lost headlights and other electrical problems. Pulled into town to spend the night and just got to sleep when I heard a train coming and thought it was coming through the motorhome and realized I was parked about 20' from the tracks! Have two 50A hookups right on the Swan river, the welcome mat is out! |
