Adjust Ride Height
My 83FC35SB leans a little. The drivers side is a couple of inches
lower than the passenger side. Front to back seems even, just side to side is off. Told the wife it is because I weigh more than her. I thought there was a side to side ride height adjustment for the air suspension near the rear axle, but couldn't find it, or at least was not sure what I was looking for. Anyone know where this is, what this looks like and how to adjust it? Does the suspension have to be dumped first to adjust it? Any tips would be helpful. Thanks. Phil Olson 83FC35SB Appleton, WI |

Adjust Ride Height
There are 3 leveler valves. One on the front axle and two on the rear. Place a
jack stand under the trailer hitch out of fear and get under the coach behind the LR tires. You will see a verticle rod with a slide adjustment on the back of the axle, lengthen it an inch. Dump the suspension and reinflate. This should be done on a level concrete surface. Might take a few tries to get it right, PB blaster will be a good thing to use on the assemblies before trying to adjust them. What should the ride height be front and back and where do you do your measuring from? Oh, and do you know if excessive bounce is a cause of air spring failure? I measure the fender lip at 12 o'clock. 41" front 42" rear.
How's the shocks? Adjust Ride Height
Mine did that when I first got it, turned out that the left side
wasn't low, the right side was high. Problem was a worn out leveling valve on the right side. The valves are very easy to change. Adjust Ride Height
I'm guessing that is my next hot job. I need to take them off and see. I placed
an air ride system on my F350 last year, in which I removed all of the existing suspension. The shocks are actually what keep the suspension from going too far and pulling the air springs apart. One clarification on the fender lip. I'm guessing you mean the metal portion of the fender and not the rubber flare, correct? Adjust Ride Height
I use the rubber flare. A half inch is close enough, in fact that's great if
you can get it that close. It's just a point of reference, the factory has a spec and it's in the archives some where, on the frame to ground spec, but the fender flare is just fine. I had to mess with mine a few times before it settled down. I got new leveling valves on the shelf just in case.
